As Design Director, I lead a small team with the goal of reviving the Blue Band's digital presence, which had fallen flat over the last few years.
Conversations with Band leadership & members helped us shape target demographics, matching key platforms with appropriate brand messaging and imagery.

We first polled the 300+ band members & staff for keywords describing what the band means to them.
Electric, Legacy, and Expression were distilled from the team submissions and used to guide creative, theming, and copywriting for the season.
As one of the premiere collegiate bands nationally, we established a consistent visual system that emphasizes band pride, with simple, reduced text that wouldn't conflict with the Football team's marketing efforts.

Engagement patterns showed recent student and band alumni had the largest presence on Instagram. As a result, we designed creative for each halftime show to extend relationship with those bases.
Weekly footage from practice was moved to Facebook where parents of students and older alumni interact with the band in a more conversational style.
We collaborated with Aaron, influencer and owner of a popular subway photography themed instagram account, to shoot the main visuals for the project.
After combing through 2,000+ selects, we found the statement shot for the store.
The large-scale graphic now greets each customer as they close the checkout process.
